Hunting Bluejays

June 24, 2007

This is about a bluejay on the prowl for his prey. His prey are insects but from the shaking of his head after catching something i am guessing his insects are bigger than the prey of the hunting finch i see more often. The bluejay is in the trees surrounding me, he jumps around with his head and body bobbing back and forth as he zeros in on his prey. He is silent. For such a beautiful bird bluejays sound awful, like a strangled crow. While hunting they are magnificent to watch.
